CCC (Cargo Carrying Capacity)
Also called: Cargo Carrying Capacity
How much weight you can add to a towable RV: GVWR minus UVW. Everything you load counts against it, including water in the tanks, propane, food, gear, batteries and dealer-installed options.
CCC is often smaller than people expect. Fresh water weighs about 8.3 lb per gallon, so a full 40-gallon fresh tank uses about 330 lb of cargo capacity before you pack anything. Many RVers travel with the fresh tank nearly empty and fill up at the campground for this reason.
Typical camping gear (dishes, food, clothes, chairs, tools, hoses, leveling blocks) adds up quickly, often 1,000 lb or more for a family. A trailer with a low CCC may be easy to tow when empty and still end up overweight on a trip.
On motorhomes the equivalent figure is OCCC, which also counts the people riding inside.
