PDI (Pre-delivery inspection)
Also called: Pre-delivery inspection
A thorough inspection of an RV before you take delivery, checking every system. Many buyers do their own PDI or hire an inspector before signing.
A PDI is your chance to find problems before you sign and before the dealer has been paid in full, when fixes are fastest. Plan to spend several hours.
Test everything: slides and leveling, every faucet and drain, the water heater on propane and electric, the furnace, A/C, refrigerator, outlets, lights, awning and generator. Fill the fresh tank to check for leaks, look at the roof sealant and underbelly, and check tire date codes. Write down every issue and get the dealer’s repair commitments in writing.
